Trick or Treat!

Happy Halloween!

Finally I am home from work (9 - 5:30 today) and just relaxing -- Brent is at the Tennessee game and I am just hanging out with the pugs.

I stopped and got some halloween candy after work, but unfortunately I have had to close the front door and turn the porch light off to discourage any would-be trick-or-treaters. Oscar is totally scared and confused by all these little characters knocking on the front door. One of the little girls from the last group said "She (Milly) is nice, but he's grumpy!!" This was after he tried to take her hand off when she reached into the candy jar. Oh well. He was definitely grumpy after this:

I was looking for a good scary movie to watch tonight and saw that the 1973 version of Wicker Man was on TV. I have never watched it, but have always seen it listed as one of the best horror movies of all time. Now, I love scary movies, but hmmmmm.....I'm really not getting into this. There are some very bizarre musical numbers that I had to skip through so the kiddies wouldn't see them through the glass door. I guess I will see if it gets any better...

Finally, check out this massive Reese's ---- each cup is 0.5 lbs!

It’s great to be a Tennessee Vol!!!!

Tuscaloosa may very well be the worst place in the United States for Vol fans to live.  In the past three years, we have faced verbal abuse, ridicule, and have had our Tennessee merchandise defaced, stolen, and vandalized.  However, we must be growing on our neighbors and friends, because this year the only thing that happened was some one unscrewing Brent’s TN license plate and screwing it back in upside down. Maybe they feel sorry for us?  Who cares, I’ll take it!

However, the big TN vs. AL game was here in town, and of course we went, and it was oh-so-heartbreaking.  But even so, our boys played well and we had a fun time, for the most part.  I will say this: Bryant-Denny home games have the best music. And also: I am always shocked at how grown men get so emotional over college football.

Before the game, obviously:

The quad with Bryant-Denny chimes in the background:

The Pride of the Southland Marching Band!  Always my favorite part of the entire game!
