Late Bloomer

061

I was up ALL NIGHT last night.  Sick, sick sick.  Tossing and turning, sweating, nauseous. Must have been something I ate.  I seriously slept maybe 3 hours.  It was terrible.  I went to work and left after about 1.5 hours.  Came home, bundled up in pajamas and blankets, and turned the heat on.  I was freezing. I felt asleep and when I woke up I felt so much better.

Yesterday I got an un-bloomed Easter Lilly at Publix.   It was the only one with no blooms.

This morning when we woke up, it had started:

Smells wonderful!

E-mealz is back!!

It was a long day here by myself.  I cooked an E-mealz supper of Shrimp Linguini.  It was okay.  Not great. There was no sauce!  Just shrimp + plain bland noodles.  I added roasted rosemary veggies to it, which very much improved it.

Dessert:

Grilled Banana with Almond Butter + Coconut Butter

090

This is a really simple and delicious dessert.  I “grilled” the banana on the stove in a skillet with cooking spray until it was heated/mushy and had a grill stripe down the middle.  Melted 1/2 tbsp each of almond butter and coconut butter and spread on top of the banana.  So good and very sweet.  I have grilled the banana in butter before and it is even better that way, but obviously adds more calories.

We’re watching Chuck and getting ready for bed!  Hopefully I can sleep tonight!

Pugs are so funny.  Every day around 4 p.m. they start watching for Brent to come home.

Sleepy Spring Sunday

What a nice day!

It started with chocolate chip pancakes (no picture), which were great, groceries, and lunch at Subway.  This afternoon Brent watched as TN played (and lost – boo!) in the Elite Eight game while I read the Sunday paper.  Then me and the pugs had a little “down time.”

Tonight I went to the Arboretum again and it was pretty much deserted.  I’m not sure if people don’t know it is up there or aren’t sure it is open or what, but I saw several people exercising at the VA.

Seriously?!  I was so disappointed.  Almost all of the blooms had fallen off the trees!  Last week it was just breathtaking, especially in the late afternoon light.  Today, not so much.

But definitely still nice!  Obviously this week I was using the Canon Powershot point + shoot.  Pictures are nowhere near as crisp.

When I got home, we went to Calientes and obliterated any calorie deficit I might have created with the exercise.  It might have been worth it.  Brent thinks it is hilarious that I get the hamburger at a Mexican restaurant.  It is so good, though!  [Interestingly, they have a Facebook fan page, which I just joined. Ha!]

We came back and took the pugs on a walk and experimented with the night setting on the DSLR.  I am obsessed with this camera, in case you could not tell.

Milly hates the leash, walking, and exertion in general.  She tries to stop and turn in at every driveway we pass.  She’s so funny!

Tour de Tuscaloosa

Today was a huge cycling event in Tuscaloosa.  Brent participated as the photographer for some of his friends.

It was a pretty fun day, and beautiful.  We ate at Mama Goldberg’s Deli, which was delicious! There was an arts festival + live music downtown, in addition to the race, and tons of people out and about shopping and eating in the downtown area. I love arts and craft festivals!!  I watched the race a little bit, then walked all over town while Brent stayed to photograph.

After the event we were both really tired.  He picked up Chipotle on the way home and then we caught up on the Office.  Nice, relaxing night!
