Brent and I had a cozy + sweet Thanksgiving together this year. While I was at work, he slaved away at home, carving the smoked turkey that we bought + putting together all of the side dishes. Our menu included:
- Smoked turkey and/or Ham (ham was from Heavenly Ham)
- Mashed potatoes
- Cornbread stuffing
- Green beans with almonds
- Turkey gravy
- Yeast rolls
- Pumpkin pie
- Chocolate chip cookies
I never realized that carving a turkey was serious business. Brent watched a tutorial on You Tube and then got to work. It was perfect! I was super impressed – not only that he did such a great job with the turkey, but that he organized and prepared the entire meal + cleaned the entire house while I was at work. I must say again that I am SUPER IMPRESSED and overwhelmed and so grateful for such a fantastic husband!!!!
After we ate our meal, we hung out together with the pugs – he watched some sports, I read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (fantastic!), then we ate chocolate chip cookies while watching The Ex. It came out in 2006 but we had never heard of it before – it was so funny!
Then, as you can see in the picture above and below, the tryptophan set in. Either that, or poor old Milly got a bellyache from all of the food! Her just can’t control herself!
