Green Thumb

021

A green thumb is something I definitely don’t have.  But I’m working on it.  Suddenly I have become obsessed with growing things and shopping (just browsing) in the garden center of all the major retailers.

So far I have two azalea plants going, two flower rockets (fingers crossed), an herb garden (from seeds), two basil plants, a rosemary plant, a cilantro plant, a hyacinth (actually, RIP today as it died despite my constant attention), and Jodi’s two plants (that will withstand a remarkable amount of neglect).  I have found spider webs growing in there!

Here are some other things I like:

And here is what is going on in the backyard:

The figs & magnolia blossoms are on the way!  And we also have a very small blackberry patch in the very back of the yard.  Most everything else is just a weed, though.  I really need to find a spot to plant my hydrangeas!

Easter Collage

Happy Easter!

This has been a great Easter weekend!  We have enjoyed church, sunshine, hydrangeas, dogs, and each other!

The two pictures above were taken at the Secret Church simulcast on Good Friday evening.  Basically, it is a 6-hour superfast Bible class (6 pm – midnight) with David Platt, one of my favorite Bible teachers.  The topic this time was “The Cross and Suffering” and it was a survey of the entire Bible. It was incredible, honestly. It was SO GOOD.  I loved it.  We left at about 11, though, right before the last session.  All of the sessions are available (for free) online, so I will definitely make up that last session.
