Good for the Soul

028

Today, while waiting to take Brent to physical therapy, I channeled my inner teenager and drove the country backroads with the windows down and  Daughtry blaring from the radio.  Don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it! Its like therapy, actually.  Good for the mind and good for the soul.  I love the country.  Something about golden-green fields under a blue sky makes me feel happy and right at home.  Unfortunately, my camera was set on manual focus and most of the pictures I took came out really blurry.

I first became acquainted with Sanders Ferry road via bike.  As you might imagine, it is a much nicer drive!

These blurry pictures look like they were taken circa 1960.

The photos below are of the old Drish Mansion in Tuscaloosa. It was built by slaves in the 1830’s. After it was an actual residence it was a school, then a salvage yard for auto parts, then owned by a church. Now I believe the preservation society is planning to restore it.   Google “Drish Mansion” – apparently it is notoriously haunted by Dr. and Mrs. Drish and their daughter.
