After all of the time spent in the car yesterday, there was one thing on the agenda for today:
I’ve been looking for some sort of floating “table” with cupholders that I can keep my iPhone + books on as I’m floating around. The iPhone has already visited the bottom of the pool once and luckily suffered no permanent damage, although the speakers & camera were out of service for ~ 1 day). Can’t let that happen again.
Oscar LOVES the pool. Today after Brent went inside, he got on the float with me (as above) and dozed off several times before I sent him inside (he was not happy about it, either!). He’s such a water dog! Who knew?!
[Horrendous sunglasses from Beall’s will be relegated to “pool use only” status.]
It was such a beautiful, sunny day with lots of clouds for intermittent breaks from the sun. My favorite thing to do is float around reading books with the iPhone playing in the background. Books are so much better in the pool! Last week I read Elizabeth Berg’s What We Keep and today I started Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.
This afternoon Brent went mountain biking at Lake Lurleen with some of his friends. This is what he came upon in the woods:
Yep, that’s a HUGE RATTLESNAKE. So scary. So scary. Brent was going downhill when he saw this guy on the trail and he couldn’t stop safely or fast enough and just had to ride on by it!! Then he stopped to warn the others, and the rattlesnake coiled up and started rattling at them. At this point they were 6 miles in with probably no cell service. They threw things at it until it slithered off the trail and into the woods. So scary. I hate snakes!
