If last summer was the summer of the fig, this year is the summer of the sunflower. They make me so happy!
This morning, we made our first trip to the Tuscaloosa Farmer’s Market. We got there around 10:15 and nearly everything was sold out. But there were sunflowers – beautiful, perfect sunflowers for $6 a bunch. Sold.

Blueberries, squash, & lemon pound cake…perfect!
This summer is also the summer of the movie….lately all we have wanted to do on these miserably hot Alabama summer afternoons is rent movies or go to the movies….today we saw Horrible Bosses. And after that, we took a country drive with the windows rolled down to smell the fields. We ended up back here…[close-ups courtesy of Brent]…
